Modernization of hydroelectric plants in Latin America and the Caribbean: Identification and prioritization of investment needs

Hydropower is the most widely used renewable energy source in the world, and in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) it supplies almost 50% of electricity demand. Current projections identify that installed hydroelectric capacity will continue to grow to meet future electricity demand.
